Qi and Kundalini Energies

Basic Info about Qi Energy

Qi is a subtle body energy that is not a physical energy (i.e. an energy in the physical universe). The name Qi originated in the Chinese language. Another name for Qi energy is “prana”, commonly used in Hinduism (Hindu/Jain God School) and sometimes used in Buddhism practices, especially originating from India.

Having a higher level of Qi on a regular basis generally helps a person’s health. When a person’s Qi energy level is boosted, its effects are beneficial for health. A bigger boost will be more beneficial than a smaller boost.

Qi energy is gradually consumed while being used for improved health.

Qi energy is already naturally replenished by normal body functioning such as eating/digesting food and drink and through adequate sleep and rest.
Basic Info about Kundalini Energy
Kundalini is a longer-term subtle body energy associated with a human being that can be increased through practices and then stored as a reserve of helpful subtle body energy.
When a person’s Kundalini energy is at a higher level, it is gradually converted over time to Qi energy that is helpful for the person’s health.
Kundalini is a name used in Buddhism and other religions originating from East and South Asia.
Kundalini would be roughly equivalent to a Chinese term called “shi”. Kundalini is a more popular name. Also, some practitioners may use the term “Higher Qi” to mean Kundalini.
It is very good to understand that there are two distinct types of subtle energy, Kundalini and Qi, that exist in a human being. Both energies can act to help improve a person’s health.
Some other Qi Gong descriptions mainly use the term Qi energy and do not use a specific term that means Kundalini energy. Using both terms for Kundalini and Qi energies, an explanation of how a human being can increase and store Kundalini energy and subsequently have higher levels of health-enhancing Qi energy can be more complete and detailed.
Two further benefits of a high level of Kundalini energy from practicing specific meditation techniques are as follows:
1. A high level of Kundalini energy is very helpful having calm and focused meditative experiences.
2. A high level of Kundalini energy helps a person to think more clearly and more calmly.
